Casa allows paid members to manually manage Unspent Transaction Outputs (UTXOs) instead of using the default Auto-Select feature. This can help with fee optimization, privacy, and strategic Bitcoin management.
Note: This feature is not available to free users. To access this feature, you will need a paid membership plan.
Sending a Transaction with Auto-Select (Default)
By default, Casa enables Auto-Select when sending a transaction. This automatically chooses UTXOs for efficiency. You only need to change this setting if you prefer to manually manage UTXOs or addresses.
Manually Managing UTXOs
To manually manage UTXOs:
1. On the Send screen, select “send from: Auto-Select” at the top.
2. Choose “UTXOs” from the available options.
Each UTXO will display:
•BTC amount
•First and last characters of the address
•Transaction memo (if available)
•A link to view the transaction on-chain
Selecting UTXOs for Consolidation
1. Select the UTXOs you want to consolidate.
2. Tap on the white Send button at the bottom of the screen to continue.
Note: You can consolidate up to 100 UTXOs at a time. If you select more than 100, an error will appear. Simply deselect a few and continue.
Completing the Transaction
1. Back on the Send screen, press “Send Max” to send the full amount.
2. Choose the destination for the transaction and proceed.
Important:
If you enter a send amount different from the total selected, two UTXOs will be created:
•The selected BTC amount will be sent to your chosen address.
•The remaining balance will be returned to the next available change address.
That’s it! You can now complete your transaction.
