Why did my bank account connection fail?

There are several common reasons why your bank might not link successfully. Work through these before contacting support.

Incorrect account details
Double-check your account number, routing number, and the name on the account for typos.

Name mismatch
The name on your bank account must exactly match the name on your Zero Hash account. Nicknames, maiden names, and business names will cause a rejection.

Unsupported account type
Only personal checking accounts are supported.
Savings accounts, money market accounts, and business accounts may not work.

Bank restrictions
Your bank may have settings that prevent external connections.

Check that:

  • Online access is enabled
  • Third-party data sharing is permitted
  • ACH transfers to external services are allowed

Contact your bank directly if you're unsure.

Joint or multi-signature accounts
These may require special authorization or may not be supported at all.

Bank not supported
Some smaller banks, credit unions, or online-only institutions may not be available through Plaid. Try a different account if you have one.

Temporary technical issues
Your bank may be experiencing downtime. Wait a few hours and try again.

Compliance check by Zero Hash
In some cases Zero Hash may decline the connection due to internal compliance controls. If you've ruled out all of the above, contact casa@zerohash.com for assistance.
